⚠️ Important Information:
Nomadeos requires a public (non-shared) IPv4 address. If your connection uses CGNAT or is IPv6-only, port forwarding will not work. In this case, contact your provider to request a public / dedicated / full-stack IPv4.
If you encounter a problem, never click RESET. Contact Nomadeos support.

Nomadeos Configuration — All Providers (Outside France)

This general guide applies to most international routers and internet boxes.

Duration: 10–20 minutes

Step 1 — Connect the two devices

Physical Connection
  • Connect the WAN port of the Nomadeos Server to a LAN port on your router.
  • Connect the WAN port of the Nomadeos Client also to a LAN port on the router (for configuration only).
  • Power on both devices.

LED Check
  • Wait approximately 30 minutes for all 3 LEDs on each device to light up.
  • Wait about 5 minutes.

An explanatory video is available for these first two steps.

Step 2 — Access your router's interface

Interface Connection

From a device connected to your home network, open a browser and type one of the following addresses:

  • 192.168.1.1
  • 192.168.0.1
  • 192.168.1.254
  • 192.168.0.254
  • 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.0.2

The exact address depends on your provider. It is usually indicated:

  • On the label under the box
  • In the router manual
  • In your online customer area
  • Or via your provider's support

Some providers also allow access to network settings directly from their official website.

Step 3 — Open a port (Port Forwarding)

The function may be called:

  • Port Forwarding
  • Port Mapping
  • Virtual Server
  • NAT
  • Port Redirection
  • WAN Services

It is usually found in:

  • Advanced Settings
  • Security
  • Network
  • Firewall
  • WAN Configuration
Field Value to enter
Name Nomadeos-server
Protocol UDP
External Port 51820
Internal Port 51820
Local IP Local IP address of the Nomadeos-Server. In some cases, you can select it directly from a dropdown menu. Otherwise, you will find the IP address of the Nomadeos-Server in the LAN section of your internet box (or my equipment / my devices).
Remember to set a static DHCP reservation for the Nomadeos-Server so that its local IP never changes.

Step 4 — Check if you have a public IPv4

Nomadeos does not work if your connection is on CGNAT.

How to check:

  • In your router, look at the WAN IP address.
  • Compare it with the one displayed on whatismyipaddress.com.

If the WAN address starts with:

  • 10.x.x.x
  • 100.x.x.x
  • 192.168.x.x

➡ You are probably behind a CGNAT.

If your router only offers IPv6 port forwarding and not IPv4, you are also IPv6-only.

In this case, contact your provider and request a public / dedicated IPv4. If this is not possible, contact Nomadeos support: alternative solutions exist.

Step 4.5 — Configure the third device (only if you purchased the multi-pack)

  • Unplug the first travel device from your internet box and plug in the second one instead.
  • Wait approximately 30 minutes for the 3 LEDs on the new device to light up. Once the 3 LEDs are on, it means the device is paired with the server. You can then proceed to test that everything is working correctly.

Step 5 — Test the Nomadeos Client

Connect to the NOMADEOS-CLIENT WiFi (password: goodlife).

Verify that the IP address displayed on whatismyipaddress.com is the same as your home IP address.

⚠️ Some providers prevent testing when both devices are connected to the same box. In this case:
  • Unplug the Nomadeos Client
  • Test it with your mobile connection (4G/5G)
  • Or any other external internet connection

To do this, refer to the tutorial: How to use your Nomadeos.
